In a world where 40% of all couples meet each other through dating websites, there is the exception of Matt & Kelcy’s story. The way these two met is the exception that proves that organic love is alive an well. One fall day Matt was pre-gaming downtown before heading to a Bears game and wouldn’t you know it, Kelcy was too. They both went to grab their own cabs but ran into each other on a street corner and decided to share one instead, and they lived happily ever after. This is my favorite part of Matt & Kelcy’s wedding and coming in at a close second is the bold & beautiful vibe in which Kelcy styled her wedding. Matt & Kelcy’s wedding was in almost every sense completely non-traditional. The fun elements of the wedding featured flowerless floral arrangements , bold colors , edgy metallic accents & musically inspired signage.
All of the bold colors were paired with classic black bridesmaids dresses and the black tie tuxes the groomsmen sported. The entire feel was zipped up with a sleek & formal feel that was as big as life. Kelcy’s inspiration emerged from her own unique vision. The concept consisted of a modern colorfully explosive vibe that gave mention to the Bride & Grooms eclectic love for music & the colorful urban murals that adorn the streets of Chicago. Everything from the florals to the dress was bespoke in nature curated by Kelcy.
The wedding was held at The Lakewood in Chicago that is one big blank slate of clean white walls which allows for thier couples to feature decor of any pallette. Kelcy said she knew thats what excited her about planning all the color she had in mind.
