I met Paul when he contacted me in March 2016 ( Click here to see the surprise proposal photos ) to photograph his surprise proposal to Katherine on the Kinzie Street bridge in Chicago surrounded by out of town family. We all hit it off and soon I was photographing their formal engagement session and wedding ( Click here to see the engagement photos ). These two are the most photogenic couple ever and they ooze love and excitement. I don’t think I could give them a million dollars to dim their beaming smiles. They were married in Manistee, Michigan which is a charming very small beachtown on Lake Michigan. Katherine has extended family in Manistee and she spent much of her summers there as a child. The bridal party got ready in the family occupied historic mansion located in Manistee, the mansion belongs to her Katherine’s uncle and is historic landmark built in 1885. The groom and groomsmen plus best lady took a stroll around downtown for photos and also spent time at The Ramsdell which is a beautiful historic hotel downtown. The white tented reception took place at The Manistee Golf and Country Club, where The Bluewater Kings Band kept everyone on their feet. Katherine styled their beautiful wedding with a chic beach style. The wedding party and close family celebrated privately between the ceremony and reception on a lighthouse pier on 1st street beach with champagne, speeches and hugs. Guests danced the night away to a full 9+ piece band under the swaying string lights. This wedding was a dream to photograph, the weather was perfect, the day had no flaws and the backdrops were all amazing. I was lucky to find these two. Ill take a million more weddings like this!
