Surprise Proposals are one of my absolute favorite types of sessions. Nothing tops the excitement and joy of a couple who just said yes and are experiencing the most exciting moments of their lives. I have been photographing surprise proposals before it was even a thought in most couples’ minds to hire a professional. It is currently a non negotiable and you need those moments to share with your most important people. From location suggestions to storylines & perfect timing, I can guide you through every step. Engagement Sessions

I offer engagement sessions built into your surprise proposal as well as stand alone engagement sessions. Engagement sessions are essential to getting to know me and how I flow with you before the wedding and also offer awesome content to share on your favorite social platform and wedding website.
Surprise Proposals FAQs
01. Can you help plan my surprise proposal?
I can definitely help suggest a location, best time of day and coach the arrival. If you are looking for decor elements, you will have to hire a vendor to supply and set that up. I have available prep add ons for those couples who are from out of town and don’t know the area. For an added fee I offer a video walkthrough of the location that has been chosen.
02. Do you offer video of the proposal?
I do offer video! If the location is somewhere that isn’t logistically problematic, I can offer a video add-on.
03. How long does it take to get the photos back?
All packages include an early release of photos within 24 hours of the proposal. You will get anywhere from 5-10 photos to download and share with family to celebrate! The remainder of the photos will be delivered within 2 weeks of the proposal.
04. Can I bring family to the proposal?
Of Course! You can invite friends, family and even your pet. Depending on the timing of the package you book, we can usually take group celebration photos in addition to your engagement photos.
05. What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
A surprise proposal is just about the only type of photo shoot that doesn’t lend for a reschedule when it comes to weather. Part of the surprise element is keeping with the story line you have pitched to your unsuspecting soon to be fiance. Most couples stick it out and bring umbrellas if it does look like rain. A proposal in the rain can be romantic too! If available to move the proposal I do offer to move the session at an additional fee.
06. What is the best place to do a surprise proposal?
I have endless suggestions of popular locations in Chicago for a proposal. If you are looking for a more private proposal I can suggest a spot off the beaten paths. If you want an iconic backdrop I have skyline locations. Once you have booked the date and time I will provide an entire gallery of location options.
