Romy & Thomas are Chicagoans who decided to Elope in New Orleans, the city they have culinary ties to & also fell in love with as a couple. They wanted to make their love official in the place that makes them the happiest. They had a few sentimental requests for the day. They wanted to stop for a drink at Manolito’s, an adorable spot in The French Quarter. Their other request was Cafe Du Monde ( Bignets of course ) & Bacchanal ( for the unique venue of wine & Jazz ).
They started with their vows at Felicity Church between just the two of them ( the officiant & myself as the witnesses ) . Felicity Church was built in 1888 and began as a Methodist church. Over the years it has changed names & been through many hands as well as a fire & two hurricanes. Located in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, this church has been restored with revival gothic characteristics & now acts as a non-denominational venue. It is owned by Chris Jones & Jessica Walker who had their own wedding there. They purchased and renovated Felicity Church into the beautiful venue it is today. After the vows Thomas & Romy invited me to tag along for an entire day of celebrating all around town. As you will see in the photos below we visited many of the popular places in New Orleans. In addition to Cafe Du Monde & Bacchanal Wine, they strolled through The French Quarter. They walked through a park in The Garden Distict, then they finally ended the night dancing on Frenchman Street. All places I HIGHLY suggest going to if you are ever in NOLA.
I will forever be grateful that Thomas & Romy ( also friends of mine ) asked me to be a witness & more importantly to be their photographer. They introduced me to a city I now have fallen in love with just as they have.
